Cookies for Mum
Spent the whole of Saturday evening to get the stuff for baking my cookies. Went to Bangsar Village with En Arip after office, and then to OU later to get everything I needed.
I spent this morning baking three types of cookies which mom requested the other day. Unlike previous years, I will not be buying the cookies from my aunt, since she is taking a rest from selling them this year..
All the ingredients...

I've baked three types of cookies today, with another seven on my to-do list...
The three I baked today are:
1- Caraway Pretzels (Mum's number 1 favourite!)
2- Chives and Cheddar Cheese Cookies (En Arip's favourite)
3- Twin Peaks Cookies.
Dad also called me yesterday and asked whether I've started baking the Caraway Pretzels. Now, he loves the mini pretzels, too... Me, I love chocolate Mini Pretzels, which I will be baking tomorrow...
Caraway Pretzel
Since a few readers asked for the recipe and some baking tips, I'll upload them soon, ok?

Chives and Cheddar Cheese cookies
I really luv the smell of these cookies~

Twin Peaks Cookies.
For this recipe, I had used chocolate chips, melted chocolate, and chocolate powder for the pastry part.

Sorry... The kitchen is a bit messy! Thanks En Arip, for the Starbucks apron!

There! So sweettt~~~ *matilah puji diri sendiri :P
The winner is...
DORAEMON... you are the winner!!! Congrats!!! Hehehe...
Yes, the list price for the Singapore Mee Siam was MYR7.90!
That may be cheap to many.... but for me, MYR7.90 for that small portion of plain mee hoon with no filling, is plain cut-throat! I don't mind paying even MYR35 for a plate of mee hoon if there is really something special in it...
So Doraemon, nanti I belanja~ tunggu~~
Anyway, buka puasa today was at Manhattan Fish Market after Marghrib prayer... and the Ramadhan set was worth the RM53++ per set for two pax...
Tomorrow will be the 17th day of Ramadhan... cepatnya kan??
Soon, it will be raya... :( mcm tak puas berpuasa....

Tomorrow, I will be working half-day... And after office, I will need to go pick up some ingredients to bake some raya cookies which my mum requested. She loves my Mini Pretzels so much, and since she is going to be very busy, she had asked me to bake them for her... Mum and I have always been kitchen-buddies, so baking for her is no big deal...
A Royal Engagement
I was at the worksite to supervise installation staff working on the hardscape portion of the Bukit Rimau project. That took up almost half of the day! And after terawih, En. Arip and I had gone to Shah Alam to meet a really humble Royal couple at their super diva, posh mansion... They had asked me to design the landscape for a state palace, which will be considered a freelance engagement.
Hmmmm.... I was very interested, but they required me to come up with some suitable Georgian concept designs real soon... The payment sounds extremely good, but I'm a bit worried that I might fail to meet the deadline, which is scheduled for this Sunday! It has been a real long day... I am exhausted!
PS: I will announce the winner of the "Guess the Singapore Mee Siam Contest" in the next entry. Hehehehe....
Part II of Mee Siam Singapore...
My mind is still on the Mee Siam "kosong" which the cafe called "Singapore Fried Mee Siam"...
I've never been so disappointed about my food... I am not hard to please, and I do not mind paying extra if the food satisfied me... And neither do I complain if the food tastes bad or is tasteless... but yesterday's incident got me really mad, since I know the actual material cost to make that dish, which shouldn't be more than 50 sen. I got really mad because the price they charged was too exorbitant for such a measly plate of mee...
The amount of noodle was too little to begin with, and to make matters worse, there was only a dice or two of tofu and one half of a boiled egg. Just that! How can somebody possibly sell something like that? It was really cut throat!
Me at work while waiting for buka puasa... I was really busy...

Making sure the measurements of my design are correct...

Excited to break fast! But was disappointed when the ffod came!

This is the dish in question! Mee Siam + some gravy + two dices of tofu + half an egg + calamansi + some sambal (no meat at all!) Five scoops, and you're done!

Guess how much I paid for this measly plate of noodle? If you guessed right, I'll buy you a meal!~ heheh
Singapore Mee Siam katanyer~
Actually, i have a few interesting stories to be featured, especially about the plain, gravied mee hoon, with two minute cubes of tofu, called "Singapore Mee Siam " at this particular cafe masa berbuka tadi * mcm bg makan kucing aje okeh mee tu..bukan tak bersyukur, tapi sgt sedih rupanya...
My PC is not talking to me, while the laptop is still menopausal...
I am now at a CC, updating this blog while waiting for my sahur satay order...
And at the office, I've just been given my internet connection's password... So, I can do a proper update tomorrow! yeay~
Anyway, Selamat bersahur semua!
Promised entry...
Thanks for reminding me about the baked macaroni recipe... Yeah, I've quiet busy with my new job. In fact, I am extra excited about working there, too:)
Anyway, the recipe goes like this:
1 cup of macaroni
2 cup of hot water
black pepper (amount to your liking)
a pinch of tumeric powder
2 teaspoons of paprika powder (serbuk cili pun leh)
2 teaspoons of chicken powder
a pinch of sugar and salt, up to your liking...
1 chopped yellow onion
extra-virgin olive oil (ganti dgn minyak kelapa pun o.k)
slices of smoked chicken
2 chopped potatoes.
a few wild mushrooms or shiitake or canned button mushrooms..
Put everything into a baking dish, add some hot water and stir...
Leave the mix for about an hour or so, allowing the macaroni to soak a bit
Leave the dish in the oven for 45 minutes...
Done!
Easy, isn't it? ;)
This is how it looks like after you've mixed everthing in the dish...

45 minutes later... :)
