Just Fruits
As usual, on Sunday morning after hitting the gym, I went to my favourite fruit shop in my neighbourhood, Taipan USJ. I normally get my weekly fruit supply from this particular shop, 'Just Fruits'.
What I like about this shop is, they sell all types of fruits, from wild berries to local jungle bananas. You can easily find your choice of fruits here.
The variety, vibrant colors, cleanliness and sweet smell from the juice and flower section provided fresh ambience for shoppers...
Getting Started: Project Acryclic Clock
Just after gym last night, I started to work on my acrylic clock painting.
I don't know why my energy level dipped so fast last night!
Since I had not been able to find a coffee plantation in Malaysia, I went on the internet to look for pictures of the coffee berries.
Finding the right color tone of the berries...
Strawberry Pie!
After work today, I went to KLCC for dinner with
En Arip. And today being a public holiday, I had expected the traffic to be easy-going and that was just it! Had dinner at KLCC, and ended up at Bangsar Village after that, to collect something from the shop we visited the other night.
As usual, it was straight to Starbucks for late night coffee... While waiting for En Arip to do his thing at the toilet, I had enough time to pick up some strawberry pies from Bakerzin... they make very good subject for my painting tonight... I am still searching for the location of a coffee plantation for the acrylic project, so to keep the creative juice running, I just had to do some watercolor painting tonight! The strawberry pie, with its vibrant and radiant colors will be the still life subject matter, and I will upload the painting in a later entry.
Anyway, inconjuction with the King's installation today: Daulat Tuanku!
En Arip took this pic...
Can't wait to do the painting tonight.
As soon as reaching home and sorting out some chores, I marched on to finish the painting. My favourite stage is where I put the final touches to the painting.
And this is how I intend to frame it up...

Get Well Soon, My Brother...
Got a surprise call from my mom yesterday evening. She sounded worried... She said that my younger brother broke his leg playing rugby... He was sent to his campus clinic where the resident doctor diagnosed it as just a sprain, and gave him some pain killers...
My brother wasn't sattisfied, and headed for his campus hospital with his hostel warder. Ha! The doctor there found out that he actually had a fractured bone: It's a slant snap, and his ankle joint was also dislocated!
OMG! Why was the clinic doctor so negligent?
I really pity my brother... He's in the midst of his final semester's final exam, with just three more papers to sit for! He is studying Chemical Engineering, and is supposed to grad early next month. Now, he would have to wait for the swell on his foot to subside before going through the surgery to insert a prosthetic plate, to be done next week...
My brother confined to the hospital bed...
What a pity! His mind had to be on his exam...
En Arip was also there to give him some moral support...
My Underwater World
Here are some seashells from our collection. A few more are still in the box as we do not have enough room to display them... Isn't that an excuse to buy a bigger house? Hehehe...
Anyway, I really like the seahorse and starfish collection. I just remembered that I framed up a series of seahorses but don't remember where I had placed it! Anyway, take a look at our seashell collection...
The one on the left is a cross section of the one on the right.
This one is En Arip's favourite.
This is my favourite. We had bought this in Miami.
En Arip's favourite starfish
I really like the shell on the left... Did you notice the stone age-like print of a mountain on its surface?
The big one on the right is from Australia
I on the other hand, like this starfish...
A seashells print we bought from IKEA. We were so lucky, as this was the last one they had!
The seahorse in the middle have only a single spinal bone.
This seashell windchime in my bedroom is totally cool!
Actually, I used to keep a marine tank about two and a-half feet long.
But all my marine fish always die fast, as they ate very little, especially the angle fish...
Maybe, I was just not good at taking care of them...
This time, I plan to keep a reef aquarium, with lots of live reef and a few couple of fishes, a couple of yellow seahorses as well, maybe... Hopefully, this time I will take better care of them! And I will surely make it like the above, but with more live soft corals... I will surely make it to look like the above aquarium, but with my reef tank by our dining area... Should look nice there!

Protien Shake Cupcake
I suddenly craved for cupcakes last night, and at 1 AM, I was busy baking them! Instead of using chocolate powder, I've replaced it with my Muscletech's Nitro-Tech protein shake powder. And I added some self-made emulsifier so that the protein powder can dissolve in a fluid blend. Otherwise, they tend to solidify into granules, and that would not be tasty at all!
After 45 minutes, my protein cupcakes were ready to be eaten! Yeay!
I'd put some away in the fridge, and will eat them tomorrow after gym. The others, I ate while watching a DVD with En Arip...
Beating the mix
Prototype in the oven...
While waiting for the cupcakes to bake, I took some pictures around the dinning table...
f you notice, there are plenty of seashells in our dining area... Actually, En Arip and I share the same interest in collecting seashells from around the world. And what we get hold of, we display in this dining area...
The best part is, I like this showcase dining table the most. We had decorated this double layer showcase with our seashell collection. Tomorrow, I will put up an entry about our seashell collection...
This side table by the wall shares the same concept...
Underneath each shell, we had put their respective info...
My cupcakes in the oven...
The cupcakes, ready to be eaten... Yummy!
Hahaha... After a while, my puffy cupcakes began to deflate... I must have missed out something... But they still taste good!
En Arip gives his thumbs-up for my cupcakes... He said they were delicious!
Sunshine On My Side
Such good luck! This morning, as soon as I got back from the gym at about 10 AM, I applied the undercoat onto the canvas I intend to paint for En Arip... And as if knowing how enthusiatic I was, the sun was beaming at its best! Perfect timing! After applying the undercoat onto the bare canvas, I went to bed, having had my shot of liquid protein supplement earlier. After a two-hour nap, I went to check on the canvas... Yeay! It's dry! I can't wait to paint on it! Just five minutes after that, it began to pour, getting heavier by the second... Thank god! Had I woke up slightly late, my canvas would've been ruined... Luck was really on my side this morning!
Want me to paint u? hahahaDone! It has dried completely. Really can't wait to start my acrylic painting next week...Labels: art
Give Your Wall Some Life
Remember the canvas technique I shared in the last entry? Actually, you can use the same technique to beautify your walls... Smart looking, yet not costly!
This is what I did to my walls apart from decorating them with framed pictures and paintings.
What you'd need is some timber strips, stapler and cotton fabric with your prefered prints...
This is what I've made, using the same canvas technique... Two framed fabric pieces - one striped, the other, dots. Do they look nice?
This costs me only MYR14
Having the right colors, the simple framed dot print lends some life to an otherwise awkward and dull corner.
I also made those two small frames on the right..
I've framed these fragrance sniff cards that I've obtained from a fragrance counter at the mall...Simple frames and zero-cost inserts but they look good!
Will share with u guys on how to make this type of frames next time..

My bro said I was mad to finish a 100ml bottle in just three weeks... Yeah, I really luv the smell. It's so me... that's why i'm Mr. Smith! And if u noticed my blog's banner, now u know how i got inspired!

Thanks for Visiting!
Hi guys, I had just put up a neo counter on the right hand side panel of this blog to monitor who my guests are, and their location, since 12 April 2007. And I've noticed that some of you are from outside Malaysia. Also, some of my local visitors dropped by from local locations which I've not even heard of! Thanks for keep visiting my blog... If you feel like leaving a comment or two, or offer an opinion, just say it, ok? I don't, and I won't bite! hehee. But if you are comfortable by just being a silent reader, that is kewl, too! I really appreciate your visits...
Anyway, my bro En Arip had just launched his blog...
Feel free to visit him at enarip.blogspot.com He is still working on it (as he says: The cement and paint is still wet!), so it really is a work-in-progress. Don't expect too much for the time being... My elder brother is taking blogging classes with me! hehee, So, again, thank you guys for dropping by regularly!
